The red struggle to resurface from the rabbles of the dead and rise up as the magnificent power, surging above the horizon into the space beyond. They narrate the struggle and search that was started by Paul Virilio and Bernard Tschumi. The collapse of three-dimensional spaces into lines, shapes, and colours, intriguing the flow of our eyes leading us on to a journey of space and emotion, past, present, and future.

Digital Boogie Woogie

   The clashing of red and yellow with a massive ocean of black reminisces of an unceasing music of geometries delineated by vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines.  The canvas has materialized the music that combines traditional boogie-woogie piano techniques with modern digital technology. Like the blues piano playing that originated in the early 20th century, characterized by a steady, rhythmic left-hand bass pattern and lively, improvisational right-hand melodies, however, blue is absent. Its absence all the more reminded us as they swirl and swing in our imaginations.  A nostalgic and contemporary piece that recalls the work of Piet Mondrian's Broadway Boogie Woogie’. He had inspired a group of artists and musicians in New York City, including the painter and art theorist Ilya Bolotowsky, who were influenced by Mondrian's work and formed a movement known as "the Boogie Woogie group." Italo Castella + Zhu Shengyiyu

  Transference - from Kandinsky to Architecture to Digital Suprematism The project explores transferring aesthetics from an artist's paintings into a house for Musician and then re-transferring back to the digital artwork. It is a collaborative work between Italo Castella and Zhu Shengyiyu. Some form of aesthetic structure is used in this exploration. The final artworks are two series of colour digital images and another series of Black and White digital images.  The lineage of Kandinsky’s work In order to understand the conceptual development of Kandinsky’s work, we can situate the thoughts behind Suprematism. Picasso was honoured as the pillar of Suprematism, together with Filippo Marinetti. One could trace Picasso's works for an understanding of the abstract art of Suprematism.
