The Great Mao
It was during the reign of the Yellow Emperor and the Yan Emperor that China was first united into a single entity and represented by the Dragon Totem. That is why the Chinese is also known as the Dragon people. The Yellow Emperor believed that unity would end all divisions and all wars. He created the Dragon by taking parts of different tribes’ totems to become a unified totem, the Dragon.
The Dragon has the dear horn, the scale of the fish, the claws of the bird, the mouth of the wolf, the body of the snake, the wings of the Dove, the beard of the goat and the horns of the deer.
When the Yellow Emperor united all the tribes, peace and prosperity followed for many years. This experiential idea was written into the psyche of the Chinese: that unity brings peace, prosperity, and strength. With unity, the people shall be able to overcome any calamity or challenges as they can focus on improving life, science, and their defense. Of course, all these must be achieved with dedication and some sacrifices.
Mao is credited with uniting China, he set the foundation stone where the people of China can now decide their own destiny and ward off any invasion. They stood up and stand tall after 30 years of the open-door policy and scientific advancement, they have modernized their cities and villages, raise many above the poverty level and given other developing countries hope, that they too can have a better life.
Mao’s greatness is undeniably uniting the people into one friendly and formidable people.
